Christmas so beautiful,
full of love, joy, happiness.

its golden warm lights caress.

But alone in the corner, so windy and icy,
the little match girl stands shivering.
Mother and father had yelled:
„Don’t come home ‚til you’ve sold all the matches!“
But nobody bought.

But a little kitten comes along,
purrs around legs, but soon
someone shouts, „Come in!“
and the girl’s still alone.

Christmas a special time,
embraced by your loved ones.
Christmas for everyone,
warm feelings fill your heart.

Inside their warm home
there is the family
in front of the fireplace
enjoy Christmas Eve.

The dinner is delicious,
the wine is so precious,
the gifts are so generous
and everything seems so fine.

But soon kids are fighting:
„Your gifts are better!“
Father beats mother
and everyone’s crying.

Christmas so beautiful,
the happiest time of the year.
Christmas for everyone,
no reason to shed a tear.

Outside in the corner,
it’s getting darker and colder,
where the poor little match girl
is still alone.

But then she takes a match
and makes a light,
and she dreams about Christmas,
she dreams that the Holy Child is born.

Mother and father
around a rich table,
the grandma sings gently
and kids enjoy their toys.

Light for light –
the whole world is bright.
But soon lights are over
– that’s when she dies.

Christmas the Holy Night,
when angels come around.
Christmas really for everyone?
‚Cause some stay on the ground.

Drängt mich zum Entwurf, Versuch, Verriss und Neuanfang
Doch bald lüfte ich stolz den rotsamtenen Vorhang

Ein Festtagsgeschenk soll da steh’n in vollem Glanz
Ruhe ausstrahlend, erheiternd in Größe und Brillanz
die Werkstatt brummt, ich bastle an dem Projekt
ich eile, denn der Zeitplan ist recht eng gesteckt

FÜR DICH fang ich das ewig selbstkühlhaltende Schokoeis
FÜR DICH bau ich ’ne Zeitmaschinen aus Basmati-Reis

Die Zeit wird knapp, jetzt muss ich wirklich endlich ran
Perfektionismus bremst und spornt zugleich auch an, sodass
Details viel Zeit verbummeln, abschließend dominiert,
hab schon viele Sterne und Stunden investiert!

FÜR DICH halt ich das Durchauseinanderbröseln auf
FÜR DICH nehm ich die größten Kostenposten gern in Kauf

FÜR DICH verwerf‘ ich die überkandidelten Ideen
FÜR DICH weil wir uns eh schon viel zu selten ‚mal sehn;

Bevor ich mir ein Geschenk ausdenk
Und die Planung gegen die Uhrzeit lenk‘
Mach ich lieber Tee bereit,
Und wir verbringen eine gute Zeit!
